Cradling, An Invitation To Release

Our goal is to release that which restricts us in as direct a manner as possible.

We approach pain with the recognition that there is usually more than simple base physical holding the discomfort. The pain you hold has caused your body to posture in a slightly different manner: “compensation”. The discomfort you hold has altered the way you react to stimuli. There is fear of more pain, fear of reinjuring. Your body and your subconscious are aware of their mortality and that awareness is mental/emotional/psychological as well as the displayed physical issue. My job is to target the underlying, the related. To find that which continues to feed the physical discomfort and remove it.

We tune you up. As with a tuned instrument, it is now your job to choose to play melody or to play discord. I highly suggest playing melody.

You are face up, fully clothed, on my table or on the floor whichever you prefer. We make sure that you are comfortable before the work begins. Your job is to be fully limp and to breathe.

The touch is slow. I give a countdown if something will hurt; the safe word is ‘pineapple’. Your body is being invited to release, not being demanded to do so. You are always in charge.

The safer your body feels, the more relaxed it is, the more effective the work performed will be.

There are no sharp movements; I am not cracking any part of your body.

To map out your tension I will jiggle your body and by doing so will be able to see where there is flow, where there is stagnation.

We work on all areas of the body as needed.

Whether holding emotional stress or suffering from injuries or imbalance, bodywork will offer relief.

Falling asleep is a potential.
Crying is a potential.
If you are in the right state, primal screaming is a potential.
